About James

WHAT MEANS MORE TO YOU THAN THIS? 

James is a true Coloradoan, born in Northern Colorado and setting roots down in the capitol city of Denver. He started performing professionally later in life after graduating from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. As a fan of sleight of hand and the art of magic, his desire wasn’t sparked to perform professionally until one late night, he saw magician Jared Kopf perform the very first trick he learned in such a beautiful way that it could only be described as magic.

His approach to magic is to deemphasize the role of the magician and emphasize audience centered entertainment. This means placing the audience at the center and creating unique transformative experiences for them to be part of and see the world in a new light.

James has performed in Denver, CO at the Clocktower Cabaret, the Museum of Modern Art, Invisible City and more. He has also performed in New York at 54Below, and the Duplex Cabaret, where Barbara Streisand got her start.

More than just prestidigitation

SLEIGHT OF HAND

James started professionally performing in Northern Colorado and since then has been continually growing and working on taking classic magical effects and making them fun and engaging for a modern audience.

STORYTELLING

Storytelling is core to James’ performance style. Outside of magic, James has performed at storyteling events all over Colorado including Ignite!, TEDx, Raconteurs, Moth, and one off shows at the MCA. His stories are always engaging, heartfelt, and super funny.

CHARACTER

With an extensive background in the immersive and alternative theatre work,  James has worked heavily in event character work. From safari bartender, to Andy Warhol, James has had experience creating immersive characters that can liven a party and make people feel like they are in a whole new world.
